Eau Thermale Avène Gentle Gel Cleanser Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

So today i'm reviewing Avene's gentle gel cleanser, it is £12.99 which for that you get 200ml (i've had mine since July and it's still going) and you purchase this cleanser from Boots, Amazon, Look Fantastic and Feel unique. I use this cleanser only in the mornings as thats when I prefer to use it.

Avene specialises in producing product specifically designed for sensitive skin, but this cleanser has been formulated for normal combination skin, so this was ideal for my skin as it is fairly normal but I am slightly combination. So as the name suggests it's a gel based formula, which personally is what I like to use in the morning. It claims to remove all traces of make-up from the face but leaving the skin soft and supple, I am going to say that I don't think this is a good cleanser at removing makeup because I feel like it doesn't remove it all, so I am purely reviewing this cleanser as a morning cleanser.

This cleanser does have a scent and to me it smells very soapy which I don't like because it puts me off, put a side the smell the product cleanses my skin enough without it feeling dry. I would say be careful putting this near your eyes because It has caused my eyes to sting.

The way I use this cleanser is applying a pump to my face and gently massaging the product it then I take a muslin/flannel and wash away the product.

Moving onto the packaging I love the packaging of this product because 1 it has a pump and 2 you can see how much product you have left so you know when to repurchase.

For anybody that is interested here is the ingredients:

  • AVENE THERMAL SPRING WATER (AVENE AQUA)

  • PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE

  • SUCROSE COCOATE

  • C13-14 ISOPARAFFIN

  •  CARBOMER

  • CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS (SAFFLOWER) SEED OIL (CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS)

  • ETHYCELLULOSE

  • FRAGRANCE (PARFUM)

  • HYDROXYPROPYL METHYCELLULOSE

  •  IRON OXIDES (Cl 77491)

  • LAURETH-7

  • MICA

  • PHENOXYETHANOL

  • POLYACRYLAMIDE

  • PROPYLPARABEN

  • SODIUM COCOYL ISETHIONATE

  • SODIUM DNA

  • SODIUM HYALURONATE

  • SODIUM MAGNESIUM SILICATE

  • SODIUM METHYPARABEN

  • TOCOPHERYL ACETATE

  • TRIETHANOLAMINE

  • WATER (AQUA)

  • ZEA MAYS (CORN) STARCH (ZEA MAYS)

  • ZINC OXIDE

Overall the question is would I repurchase this product again? And the answer is no reason being purely down to the smell, it puts me off because I have the original soap smell but also because it stings around my eyes I hate when cleansers do that. It's not the worse cleanser i've tried but there are better ones out there.

Thanks for reading
